The Forest Edge Kung Fu School was established in 2009 by lead instructor (Sifu) Robin Adams, a registered instructor who has been studying Chinese martial arts since 1980. Robin himself has trained with several Kung Fu masters in England and China and now specializes in the Hung Gar style that has its roots in the ancient Shaolin Temple in Southern China. We regularly work with the police force and are in constant consultation
The Hung Gar style is both intense and elegant. It is characterised by rigorous hand and body conditioning, two-person drills, traditional weapons fighting, self-defence techniques and a series of forms that involve deep low stances and strong hand techniques. To counterbalance the physical demands of Hung Gar, Robin also practices and teaches the art of Qigong, which focuses on mental strength and well-being.
“You could spend a lifetime learning the art of Hung Gar and always have new skills to acquire and new challenges to face. Every lesson is, therefore, a journey of discovery and self-improvement, for both novices and experienced students.” Sifu Robin Adams
